I sent a girl flowers she never thanked me. I really do like her what should I do?

I am quite shy. I decided to break the ice by sending flowers it had a note attached so she knows where the flowers came from.
I sent a girl flowers she never thanked me. I really do like her what should I do?
If you had the attention to send flowers and there was no reaction on her side, then let her go, it doesn't matter how much you like her you will appreciate your self for doing so. I did the same thing and she was not interest, it really hurt my feelings but she was the one who missed out. Go find a nice woman some where else there are good women around!!
Reply:dude! she didn't thankyou........she's a b***h! she isn't worth it!
Reply:heys!!!!! well, i guess she's very rude and unappreciative...... even if she doesn't like you, she should have said thank you(with explanations that she doesn't like you)..... if you seriously like her.....i don't know what to say. drop her and find some other girls. there's loads of girls far better than her......well......good luck with your problem...I'm sure that there are other girls who wants to date you!!!!!!

:)
Reply:If she didn't thank you, she's not worth it. Either #1 she is rude and isn't worth your time or #2 she didn't say thank you because she isn't interested and feels awkward.

But just to make sure, just ask her "did you get the flowers I sent?"

  • What should I put on the card (for my girlfriend) that comes with flowers?

I'm getting some flowers sent to my girlfriend while she is at work tomorrow and I trying to think of something good to put on the card. 240 Characters is not enough to truely say how I feel so maybe use a quote or something? I want it to mean something but not be corny... Any ideas?
What should I put on the card (for my girlfriend) that comes with flowers?
You should know what to say because you know her more than we do. Write something touching, and sincere. You can write something like this: "It's been a pleasure knowing you all this time, you mean a lot to me and I am forever grateful that we've met you, there is a lot more to come. I love you." Say you want, just let it come from the heart to the pen to your paper. I'm sure she will love it, it is very sweet and considerate of you to get her flowers. You're a great b/f. Good luck!.
Reply:tell her to check her email at a certain time, and send her one that says everything u really want to say like 2 minutes before that time. she'll have 2 supprises in one day.
Reply:First if you did something worng and your sending her flowers DONT even bother..

YOUUUUU deliver the flowers to her go to her HOUSE though not her WORK!

Or send a dozen to EACH place send it to her work an dthan go the her house whan you think she is home or when you know she is home and ring the door bell and when she answers put a really big smile on your face and say i brought these for you that will make her feel soooo special.than ask if you can come in and talk to her.....and as for the card make it really cute no girl cares if its corny she will just care that you put the effort into it!!

    Jus say something really cute!=]]

An obituary said in lieu of flowers to give to an organization. Is it wrong to send flowers also?

My childhood friend's daughter died at 19. We are not super close, but talk twice a year. I am going to the funeral and don't know whether I should just do as the obituary says, or would they really appreciate flowers also. Does any one have any experience to help guide me? Thank you!
An obituary said in lieu of flowers to give to an organization. Is it wrong to send flowers also?
It is not wrong to send flowers. However, since you are going to the funeral, sending flowers is not necessary. Very often people send flowers as an expression of sympathy when they are not able to attend the visitation or funeral. After the funeral, it can be quite stressful dealing with all the flowers and plants that are sent. They are very welcome, but then there is that period afterwards when you are just overwhelmed with loose ends needing dealt with. Following the funeral service, flowers typically are dispersed among family and close friends and some are sent to hospitals or nursing homes as well. There are many reasons why a family may not want flowers. Perhaps many of the family is coming from a long distance and will not want to try to take flowers home with them, especially if they are flying. Sometimes it is personal and the family just doesn't want to have anything back at their home to remind them of the funeral of their loved one. It is best to honor the request of the family at a time like this. If they would have appreciated the flowers, then the obituary would not have made that statement.
Reply:Send money to the organization, and ask the organization to send a card to them acknowledging them of your donation. If you feel you need to, send a rose or two to the mother, not a big fancy basket or extravagant display of foliage. Or if you know what the daughter's favorite flower was, send that. Sunflowers and daisies would brighten the occasion as well.
Reply:if they said donations, then that is what they want, right?

i have no idea if they would appreciate flowers also.
Reply:You do what you can. That was a suggestion and a way to do something positive with the money because the flowers are expensive to just lay on the grave site or take to the family house. I would give to their choice of charities and maybe send a small arrangement with a note of the charity of sponsored.
Reply:It's not wrong, it's very thoughtful actually, they would just rather have the donation to the organization, than to have people spend money on flowers.
Reply:You can do both, if you wish. It is just that, sometimes, people view the short life of flowers and the expense associated them to be [hate to use this word!] wasteful; especially, when the money could be better spent on research for the disease that caused the death or hospice services, the financially struggling family, etc.
Reply:i would respect their wishes and donate to the charity if you want to do something

Seriously what good can come from sending something anonymously on Valentines Day?

I have really liked this girl for ages. We’ve become pretty good friends over the last year and it just makes it harder to talk to her about it for risk of losing that friendship (sad I know!). I was thinking of sending her an anonymous card or flowers with a message on – what do the ladies on here think? Can all that anonymous stuff actually get you anywhere?
Seriously what good can come from sending something anonymously on Valentines Day?
She'll love it probably..girls always do.

Then talk to her about it and if the moments right tell her they're from you :P
Reply:Yes, anonymous stuff can get you somewhere. I sent my hubby one single pink rose when I first met him - anonymously - even though he already had a girlfriend. When I called him later that night to ask if he received it, he was really surprised that it was from me (he had already called the girlfriend and found out it wasn't from her). They ended up breaking up and then we got together. The rose didn't break them up - their relationship was already rocky %26amp; he had been considering ending it when I sent him the rose. And now we've been married 5 years!!
Reply:its not so much of anything coming out of it, it's the mystery behind it thats fun. When you shall become really close, maybe you can tell her that you had sent her the gift
Reply:I think it is a good idea as she probably already know you have feelings for her. It will also be a good way to find out how she feels. If you are already close as friends then she probably has an inkling. Good luck..:)
Reply:I think anonymous cards are sweet. If she doesn't find out she still feels great about herself. If you tell her she will think it is cute that you were shy about signing it.
Reply:Sure do helps a bit. You can hint to her see what she thinks or reacts.

What do you think about a girl sending a guy flowers?

I think it's ok to send a guy flowers...I've done it a few times and they really appreciated it...I would not do it all the time though...just once in awhile or some special occasion. It all depends on the guy though...some guys think its cheesy.
What do you think about a girl sending a guy flowers?
i sent someone i was talking to a blue rose with a nice card and he said it was very thoughtful and he liked it very much. (his exact words)

    i didn't send a dozen, just 1 will do.
Reply:I think it's OK if you are into women's lib... try going to www.ediblearrangement.com and see if there is anything like this in your area...it's reallllllly cool....and he will like it
Reply:Guys arent really crazy about flowers, send cookies or cup cakes.
Reply:Maybe if hes injured but for something romantic... its probably not a good idea.
Reply:Well usually its the guyy sending the girl flowers.

    It`d be kinda odd [x
    Reply:It's a lovely thought!

However due to society's norms, it could be perceived as strange in a role reversal way.

I reckon a guy would be secretly chuffed.

I think macho men would be embarrassed externally.
Reply:WELL, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's kind of sweet actually! lol!

  • Flowers and their meanings?

I want to get a co-worker flowers sent to their house as just a thank you and nothing else. But I'm afraid I'll send something like red roses and give her the wrong impression. So... is there like a "thank you flower"?
    Flowers and their meanings?
A nice mixed bouquet of fresh flowers, tell florist you want a mixed bouquet of cut in season flowers, money in flowers, not container. No roses necessary. Or a nice plant - a plant that is right for the climate you are in.

    Carnations, alstromeria, daisies, sunflowers, etc.
Reply:Here's a great website that lists flowers and their meanings:

    http://www.aboutflowers.com/floral_b5.ht...
Reply:dark pink roses mean thank you

    pale rose mean friendship
Reply:What about gerbera daisies? Those are informal but very pretty. I wouldn't do roses, myself. You could also do a small mixed arrangement - lots of different colors (as opposed to a bouquet of one color of roses) keeps things informal, too.
Reply:Roses are so expensive that i'm afraid you might send the wrong impression with a bouquet of them, but other flowers are beautiful and will do as well. Go to your local florist and see what they have, that is in season, and have them make you up a pretty arrangement.
Reply:ask the florist to make you an arangement for a thankyou nothing alse it for a thankyou ask her not to put roses in there she will put lillies and all other kinds of bueatyful flowers your right roses are personal just tell the florist what you want and on the card you will be writing thankyou so there you have it nice thankyou arangement.
Reply:A mixed bouquet would be nice.
Reply:Spring bouquet, Lily, Carnation.....tell your florist to make it a non romantic bouquet....they will know what to do. ALL ROSES are romantic to most women.....the other flowers are thoughtful without reading anything into it. Your a good soul for sending flowers......women love getting flowers.
Reply:This site says that a floral arrangement filled with peach roses is a symbol of appreciation and gratitude

Representing faithfulness and virtue, the velvety blooms in our Mixed African Violet Basket couldn’t be more appropriate

    pink carnations is gratitude

on another one it said pink roses are the thank you flower...

anyway I think anything except red roses would be good.

I read somewhere long ago that yellow roses symbolized friendship.
Reply:A bouquet of Gerber Daisies is always a friendly-looking, long-lasting, colorful choice. I wouldn't read anything other than friendship if I got some from a male friend. Make sure you clarify on the card that you are sending them as a thank you!
Reply:Im sure there is...call you florist and ask them. They will know what to send. Carnations, daisy, lillys. Those are some nice ones to send too. Yeah dont do the roses

Do you know where i can buy cheap flowers to send?

I'm trying to send my boyfriend flowers and i dont want to spend $100 to send him some. so does any one know of a website or place i ca get affordable flowers to send? please help me...i want to deliver them to a city called fairview heights illinois... i need help! please
Do you know where i can buy cheap flowers to send?
There are several grocery stores with florists in the area of Fairview Hts. You might start there. Flowers around Valentines Day are going to be high no matter who you try, so perhaps an alternate gift idea might be in order.

My fiance lives in california and i live in nyc, i want to send her flowers on valentines day to her college?
call a flower delivery service in her area and order the flowers from them.

give them all her info...school address, what class and room she will be in (if you can find it out)..and they will deliver it.

since it's a college, and i'm guessing that it's pretty big, i would suggest that you call the school ahead of time and request that someone bring them in to her classroom...since it's valentines day i'm sure that a bunch of people are requesting this, so make sure you call earlier and make some type of an arrangement....otherwise they may just keep them in the office and have her pick them up after class.

    :)

    good luck!!

How would you feel if you got flowers from a stranger?

I've been noticing this girl for a while. She works at the bank that I go go and she work out at the gym that I do. She is the cutest person I've ever seen in my life. I don't run into her that often unless I go to the bank and get her window by chance. Its hard to find an oppertunity to ask her.

I'm going to send flowers to her work place and write to her how cute I think she is. I'll leave my name and phone # on the card and hope that she's interested.
How would you feel if you got flowers from a stranger?
Mmm...... do not do it. Send her a cup of iced coffee. and write a note on it. "I think you are cute" write your phone on it and your name.

Then when she calles you back to say thank you ask her out for coffee.

After the coffee date , if you still like her send the flowers to thank her for the date and to let her know you think she is cute and has a great personality. Believe it or not ...if you say that her personality is cute that is a HUGE PLUS. Focus on personality besides looks.
Reply:I would find it flattering, but I would not call.
Reply:Actually, I did received flowers from unknown persons. And it is sooo damn good for your ego!! It is a very nice gesture, and she'll feel so well in front of all her coleagues.. She'll definatelly call you back.
Reply:Well i'd personally be a little creeped out by that. Yeah it's cute or what have you but how will she know who you are? Take your chances i guess the worst that could happen is for her not to call.

Is sending a girl flowers a good way of asking her out?

hmm. I don;t think so. I had a guy send me flowers before I even know he was interested and wanted to go out. He turned out to b e a total weirdo and then tried to ask my mother out. ewww...
Is sending a girl flowers a good way of asking her out?
Sure! Why not, try something like pink roses (not red unless you want her to marry you) or maybe a single red rose (very romantic) with a note or something. It's really sweet and most girls love it!
Reply:No, not for asking her out that's more for a spur of the moment gift or to celebrate something. Flowers are more for someone you've known awhile as a selfless not a selfish gift where you aren't expecting anything in return. Some girls get flowers all the time while some don't at all it also depends on the girl and what she likes, if she's hinted she might like to recieve flowers from you then there's your chance to step up, otherwise, hold back a bit and save the flowers, otherwise you might be very embarressed if she turns you down, it's like walking face first into a brick wall then it falls on you.
Reply:Yeah! Most girls like flowers. If you decide to send her flowers, make sure that you send her, her favourite flowers to earn points!
Reply:OOOOOOOOHHHHH how sweet i wish a guy would do that for me it is so cute and sweet of course u should send them

Would it be inapropriate to send flowers on Valentines Day?

I want to send flowers to this woman i work with. I am truly falling in love with her. The reason i ask is i have only known her since mid-December and she is still going through her divorce. It should be final soon in the next couple of months. So would it be inappropriate?
Would it be inapropriate to send flowers on Valentines Day?
My first reaction to your question was yes, it would be inappropriate....but as I sit here and think about it, why not? Let her know you are interested..........just be mindful of the 'rebound' status. If you two become an item, her unresolved feelings and issues from her broken marriage will follow her.......
Reply:its not really inapropriate. sending flowers in valentines day is like always something someone does. so naw i dont think its inapropriate
Reply:it wouldn't be inapropriate. ur flowers will remind her that she is refreshing her life. and maybe w/u.
Reply:Kinda! just wait her out until she's more ready
Reply:yes that will be sweet u should do that
Reply:i dont think it would be bad. just dont tell her that you are falling for her yet...liking someone who you work with is always a hard thing to deal with...my advise is to take it slow...see how she reacts to the flowers...then you will know if there is a chance. Good luck!!

Well, I am only 12 years old, but this is what I gave my crush:

A red stuffed dog w/ card and money in it. A caramel stuffed dog, wit a bow in it, in the bow I wrote a poem, and in that poem there was a piece of a heart-shaped chocolate. Also, to balance everything, I attached some roses.

  • In school they are planning to sell flowers for valentines day and im planning on sending some to my crush?

ok i have this crush in school and like i wanna send her a bear with a heart saying "be my valentine" with 3 red roses . but im not sure if its to much or if i should just stick with flowers. any opinions? yea she knows i like her, but she recently went through a break up. so im not sure any advice?
In school they are planning to sell flowers for valentines day and im planning on sending some to my crush?
I think you should go with both, in school, we had that, and I sent them to a bunch of my friends, it's the thought. I wouldn't say "be my valentine" though, I would say something like "thinking of you, hope you have a great Valentines day" something simple, I mean she already knows you like her... so go for it. I think it's a very cute idea, and I think that she would enjoy it very much. There is nothing better then to get a Valentine from a good friend on Valentines Day after a big break up... she'll love it, go for it!!! :)
Reply:you could send her bear and roses, but make sure you have a good chat with her afterwards.. make it clear that you are aware of her break up and you don't want to pressure her for anything.. let her know you are there as a friend and that you are interested in taking things further, but only if/when she's ready..
Reply:i think the bear would be nice...flowers tend to die but the bear is going to last and they are hugable
Reply:I say go with the bear and no flowers, but in either case stick with one or the other. Both is simply too much.

Also be warned! a person who has just gone through a breakup is really unpredictable. Tread with caution if you choose not to avoid altogether.
Reply:I agree with Trish. Keep it simple and change "Be my Valentine" to something less...blunt. Very cute and sweet idea. I wish I'd had someone do something so sweet when I was in school...I would have melted. Good luck to you :)

What kind of flowers should I send to the new guy I'm dating?

I always hear guys saying how it'd be nice if a girl sent THEM flowers...so I want to do that. I don't want it to be a standard floral bouquet, but something unique and interesting...something symbolizing the new relationship, the new beginning, the future, etc. Any ideas??
What kind of flowers should I send to the new guy I'm dating?
Guys dont really mean that. Guys send girls flowers, esp to work, so that other girls will ooo and ahhh over how sweet your guy is. Send him something he likes. Be original. Be creative. I really liked it when my wife sent me a basket of Titlist PRO V1's. That makes guys ooo and ahhh over how sweet my wife is!
Reply:Some guys say that, but does this guy? You don't want to freak him out if he is a new guy. Maybe wait a while.
    Reply:here an idea

Reply:Get cool looking flowers, not those little sissy ones. Not trying to be mean, but MOST guys, like 9-10 don't like flowers because they're too feminine looking. Get one that fits your guys personality, everybody has one. Mine happens to be the mary jane plant. Ha
Reply:i would suggest sunflowers... however, each flower has a meaning... choose the one you like and write the meaning on a little card attached to the bouquet.

Reply:First off, you shouldn't do stuff like this if you don't mean it, or because you "heard" guys like this sort of thing... Second, not all guys like to get flowers... my husband flipped when we were engaged and I did this... so take that into consideration (how sensitive or comfortable is he around sentimental stuff?). And lastly, if I did this I would go to a place or house with pretty flowers and offer to pay them $1.00 a flower to pick a few for my boyfriend... it's most original... and he'd appreciate it...

What should we write on the card with flowers to send my deepest condolence to my friend who just passed away.

My good friend has just passed away, I want to buy a bouquet of flowers to attend her funeral to pay her last respect. But I worry that I write the wrong messages in the card.
What should we write on the card with flowers to send my deepest condolence to my friend who just passed away.
    write

"we will be always best frnds"

Would you girls like it more if your bf sends flowers to you at work or be picked up at work with flowers?

I plan to surprise my gf with flowers tomorrow... she works at the college we both attend... Would it be more appropriate to have someone send flowers to her or pick her up and present her with them? Which would you prefer?
Would you girls like it more if your bf sends flowers to you at work or be picked up at work with flowers?
    Diamond is right on!

Even better than getting a surprise bouquet of flowers?

Getting a surprise that you can show off to all your friends (and enemies).

For the rest of the day until she gets home, she will be thinking of ways to thank you in a special way (if that's your goal)

Make sure you write something very thoughtful and romantic in the card as well. (Nothing lewd as someone else might read the card as well)

For instance, you could write that you have another "secret" gift for her when you pick her up from work. Like a teddy bear or her favorite chocolates

Sending flowers to her work is also a sure-fire way to end any fight (especially if you were wrong)
Reply:I would prefer recieving flowers at work. Because work isn't all that enjoyable and that would really spark her day. If you show up, then thats already sparking her day, but she doesn't necessarily need extra flowers (but yes it is nice to have flowers given like that once in a while also). But personally, I would prefer a surprise of flowers at work. :) And plus, others can be jeoulous of her because she has such a caring bf.:)

She is on a one year program to teach English to Kindergartners in a smaller town that Bangkok. I want to send them to her school but do not want her to look bad in front of her co-workers. I don't know what the Thai rules of etiquette are, but it sounds like a lovely gesture to me. :)
Reply:Not at all. In fact I'd think any woman would be proud to get flowers at work for others to see. They'll be thinking what a great guy she must have.
Reply:Yes send the flowers!!!it really shows you care and the fact that it's traveling the distance is symbolic too!!!
Reply:Don't worry about that. It will be fine. Most women do get flowers on Valentine's Day anyway.
Reply:It would be really nice, and if she doesn't want to keep them in the school, she can take them home.

I think it would be fine.

    good luck!

I have been to Thailand, the nicer hotels have flowers all around, I think it is fine, and won't be misconstrued
Reply:Go for it!! Why would it be wrong?? Unless this is specifically banned from her workplace, I haven't seen anyone have a problem at any of the places I've worked at for getting flowers..... on the opposite, we usually make a big fuss out of it (if we get along well with the colleague involved) and tell them that they seem to be very much loved/appreciated for having got such a nice gift. Nothing wrong with that....... good luck.

What to say in card attached with flowers for funeral of father of friend?

I want to send flowers to a funeral home for the funeral of my friend's father (I will not be in attendance). None of my friend's family knows me, so I didn't know if I should put in parentheses after my name that I'm a friend of the son of the deceased.
What to say in card attached with flowers for funeral of father of friend?
Just something along the lines of "So sorry for your loss , John " (or whatever your name is) Your friend will know who you are that is all that matters. You will of course speak at greater length with your friend privately , but the card annotation need not be long.

Should I send flowers and flirt with her?

I like this woman a lot. She's seeing someone now but I'm hearing that they are having problems in their relationship.

Today, I asked for her phone number after I got a haircut at the salon where she works. She said no. I feel like I made a mistake by approaching her while she was with a customer.

Do you think it's a good idea to send her flowers to the salon and write on a note that I'm sorry and that I think that she's beautiful? Or is it a mistake to do it and it may freak her out even more? Thanks....
Should I send flowers and flirt with her?
No means no. Don't send the flowers and especially don't write the note. If she's having problems in a relationship, she probably especially doesn't need you to complicate things for her now. I'd lay low and see how friendly or not she is in the coming months.
Reply:If she knows you like her then you could send flowers but if you havent told her then it might be pretty weird for her
Reply:I don't think you should make any more advances until you are sure she is over her current boyfriend. Flowers is a little much too. A card and some candy just as a "I'm sorry" should be okay. You can also include in the card how you justify yourself with asking her phone number. Make her feel better about herself, but just her aesthetics wouldn't be a good way (stray away from it actually).
Reply:itll freak her out even more.....jus lay low for a while and come back later on pull a couple smooth moves and ull be good to go...by then she might be more sure how she feels about her significant other

  • Flowers. Of all the flowers that you can possibly send, which are the most aromatic?

I'm looking for flowers that fill a room with color AND aroma.
Flowers. Of all the flowers that you can possibly send, which are the most aromatic?
Roses are often sent because of their deep "scent." Almost every flower has a unique aroma. They are as unique as the women to whom they are sent. The point is to match the aroma to the woman (or man.) It is hard to do! It is as individual as determining which perfume you like. For my wife, her favorite "aroma" changes from day to day.

Gardenias (as another person suggested) are a poor choice--the blossoms turn brown as soon as they are picked. But they smell GREAT, and are very aromatic. The blossoms last about one hour after being picked, and for that reason they aren't sold by florists.

But the real reason that the rose is the most often purchased, is that its aroma is about the best, longest lasting, and most women appreciate it.

(Women recognize many more scents than men do.)
Reply:Be sure to check with the recipient about thier preferences. As beautiful as a gardenia scent is, it would be very easy to overwhelm a room with them. (One could scent a room nicely.) This might not provide the desired effect if your recipient is not a huge fan of gardenias. Regardless of the flower you choose, it is more important that it be one that the recipient actually will enjoy than to simply overwhelm a room.

If they are for a lady friend. it might be worthwhile to check the "meanings" of any flowers you are considering. Depending upon the situation and the cultural training of the person, the meaning of the flower could make or break the gift. eg. red roses = I love you, so not appropriate for a platonic situation or a visit to a couple's home. In some situations White roses signify death. The yellow rose is not actually the symbol of Texas in the way many think, The Yellow Rose was actually a reference to a "high yellow" or mulatto woman who lived in Texas. Just a few that trip people up frequently, as quick examples.
Reply:oriental lilies, very showy white w/ pink and have a very potent fragance
Reply:gardenia they are beautiful and they smell REALLY good

    Send flowers online to Philadelphia?
You can try 1800flowers.com. They pretty much deliver to anywhere in the USA and they are pretty reasonable in price.
Reply:you can do the online order from 1800flowers.com or ftd.com. another suggestion, if you want a local florist in the area, is to go to whitepages.com, enter the recipients zip code, and find out local florists that'll do online/phone orders, and deliver.
Reply:Go to the FTD online site. I just sent some a couple weeks ago from WI, to my hubby's Mom in TN.

It's expensive, though---have your credit card ready.

I sent her a bouquet of roses, and it came with a heart necklace.

Thinking about sending my teacher flowers... ?

Ok, I’ve been thinking about giving one of my college professors a bouquet of flowers. I found this really nice poem by one of her favorite authors that would fit nicely on the card as well. I’m very attracted to her and I know it could never really work considering she’s a teacher and I’m her student, however, I still feel inclined to do something nice. I guess just to make her feel good and perhaps to see her reaction.

I don’t really have any intention of letting her know it was me, and so I was going to sign it either as ‘anonymous’ or ‘secret admirer.’ But I was thinking it might be torture for her if she never found out, and I was wondering if signing my initials would be better. Then I was thinking that if she somehow thought it was me and wanted to talk privately about it, then I would probably go ahead and confess to her, but I worry that the gesture may come off as being creepy or like I’m sucking up to her, which is not my intention at all.
Thinking about sending my teacher flowers... ?
If there is no rule against sending flowers, then sure, why not.

Tell her that you appreciate how many hours of preparation and teaching that she has spent this semester.....etc.... and sign your name. No shame in that at all.

btw -- sounds like you might like her more than you say. ;)

  • Will a florist tell someone who sent them flowers?

My friend received a dozen roses from a secret admirer for Valentine's Day. She has no idea who they are from, however she works as a health professional and is concerned that it they may be from an unstable patient. She is wondering if the flower shop who delivered them will disclose the senders name or any other type of information. Is there some sort of florist code of ethics here? She is concerned for her safety as am I. Thanks.
Will a florist tell someone who sent them flowers?
It depends on how exactly the flowers were ordered... If the flowers were ordered on-line/ by phone and the florist that delivered them is simply a contractor they may not have any information regarding who ordered the flowers...

Your friend should contact the florist who delivered the flowers and ask them for any information they may have....

In the meantime your friends should place the flowers out of public view... If someone unstable did send them they will undoubtedly be encouraged if they see the flowers displayed...
Reply:all the florist could do is say no...so tell your friend to ask anyway. Once I got flowers at work (my new husband didn't have a credit card and was out of town and asked me to buy flowers for myself and have them sent to work. I felt strange about doing that but he said he wanted me to be like the other girls and all of them had flowers, so at noon I ordered them.) When they arrived the supervisor came over to me and said "I know you bought those for yourself". I thought I'd die a thousand deaths. She had the nerve to call the florist and ask for the info. sigh
Reply:Most florists will not tell you who sent the flowers if asked not to. If there isa safety question invloved, I would call the manager of the store, tell them that you are concerned abou the person who sent them to you and ask if it was X. THey may or may not say and you need to be careful that you don't violate andy confidentially rules by using his name (i.e. can't say he is "unstable") If it is a really serious concern, go to the police and have thm trace the order.
Reply:well I don't know what the situation is but if she feels threatened by this person and this person has done something else...like show up at her door or call continuously she could file a police report. I had to do this when someone was stalking me. If it isn't that serious I wouldn't do it but you never know. The guy she filed against wouldn't find out unless he got in trouble. Then maybe the officer can ask the florist and they are more likely to tell him. If I were her I would explain the situation to the florist and they might tell you. If not, and other things happen, there is always the police.
Reply:Some florists have the customer's confidentiality so I really doubt that they will disclose any information. But you could try, maybe this one will give it to you without batting an eyelash.
Reply:She should just ask the florist and see what they say.
Reply:I called once to enquire. They would not tell me. I am sure it is different everywhere. I would call and ask.
Reply:If the sender of the flowers requests that his/her identity not be revealed, then most florists would honor that.

What is the traditional bouquet of flowers to send to a funeral?

My uncle died this week, but my family was not close to him.
What is the traditional bouquet of flowers to send to a funeral?
Lilies, traditionally, but nowadays, you can send virtually anything. Just tell the florist it is for a funeral and to make up something appropriate. They will know exactly what to do.
Reply:A potted mum or daisy-something the family could put out in the yard later or you could make a donation to a charity and have the charity send a card to the family.
Reply:There's nothing traditional. I just ask the florist what is the freshest thing on hand and send that. Sometimes it's a potted plant.
Reply:Most florists have basic floral arrangement ideas for bouquets for funerals...you need to first figure out how much you can spend so you'll get a range of choices within your budget. Once that's decided, let the florist suggest colors and types of flowers...any arrangement they make will be within the 'traditional' style. Then decide if you want something 'on a stand' [wire with legs so flowers are about 18" above the floor] that can be placed on the floor by the casket in the viewing room or at the church, or a bouquet in a standard vase to set by the gravesite later or placed with the other flowers by the casket.

If you're doing this via internet [like 1-800-Flowers, for instance] they'll have lots of color photos of funeral arrangements within the various price ranges.

A card should accompany your flowers, like "with deepest sympathy, from [family names included]". On an internet flower purchase, you can just tell them how the card should read. A card is really necessary, since the remaining family always tries to send thank-you notes afterwards...and often they'll keep the cards from the flowers as a kind of memento of the occasion.
Reply:Better than flowers donate to his favorite charity and send a card saying you donated in his name. Flowers die so quickly after a funeral we paid like 300 for two wreaths.. but that was for my Mom. Only immediate family should really buy the flowers, like mother, father, brother, sister or grandparents. The rest should do donations.

What are your favourite flowers and why ? A free bouquet for the best answer.?
My favorite flowers are the ones my kids made for me from pipe cleaners and coffee filters when they were younger - I treasure them and have them displayed on my desk at work in a Mother's Day "vase" they painted for me from a soup can. My sons are older now, 13 and 12, but they're still my favorite flowers. However, if I were to choose one person to receive flowers, it would be my step-mom, Leona. My dad died in Sept of 98, and until his death he used to bring her flowers all the time - she loves fresh flowers of all kinds! I try and remember to bring her flowers on her birthday in memory of my dad... but I know if he's looking down from heaven, he'd love to see her receive flowers from someone else, knowing that in a real roundabout way, they were inspired by him. Her favorites are anything purple - her favorite color.

Thanks for reminding me of a special memory I have of my dad. :)

Reply:multi colored carnations. was my mom's fav! of course, i'd sen them to my mom.
Reply:I love roses. Yellow friendship, pink for love, red for true love. I love them all. They smell nice and they are beautiful Red ones don't last as long as the other colors. I sent some to my friend that I bought at a flower show. It was her birthday in March. I bought yellow ones. They were beautiful
Reply:Assorted cut flowers are my favorite.
Reply:my flower is lilacs/white roses but i would send flowers to my mom most likely since my dad doesn't get her flowers that often. She likes easter lilys especial since her birthday is normally around easter.
Reply:I would send one to either my mom or sister. Because they mean the world to me. I would probably send Hydrangeas cause it means so much to all of us.
Reply:I am not the expert on flowers because I have never received any.
Reply:FREE DID YOU SAY FREE!?! Ummm i would probably send them to my dad who just lost is wife and friend tocancer a year ago and now he's trying to get back into the dating game. But there are a lot of gold diggers out there and i would say theywere from his two lovely women in his life his daughters. Is that sappy?Carnations are my favourite flower actaully there my sister and my moms favourite flower why because they come in sooo many beautiful colours and they last for like a month.
Reply:My favorite flowers are the ones growing in my garden or anyone else. The ones growing wild along the highway. The little ones tucked in a corner under a bush in the woods. All flowers are my favorite at the time I see them! Nature sure does know how to create the most beautiful art I have ever seen. I love the feeling of wonder and awe at the never ending display that nature puts on for everyone. They bring me JOY!!!!!
Reply:my favorite flower is the ones I give my wife and it makes her cry form happiness..

I Love giving her flower all the time..I love to just surprise her at work..or in the middle of the month just for being my wife...

    what you think...
Reply:I would send it to my mother. Yeah I know its probably a typical answer. But my mother has been through so much this past year, without going into to much detail. Only hope she is truly happy this year and that God knows he hears all her prayers. Sunflowers would make her happy. They are the 'Happy" flower.
Reply:If I had to pick a favorite flower, I'd have to say Gerbera Daisies. I love all the bold colors they come in. Even just a couple of them look striking in a vase. They last a good while, too, which is important to me.
Reply:my favorite flowers are roses. WHY? because they smell so good, and they're so beautiful. i think they are a girls best friend. i would have them sent to me because i never ever had a bouquet of flowers before.
Reply:i would send some to my mother on my birthday to say thanks for having me,i would send tulips to help mestop robbong them from peoples gardens,i love them
Reply:My favorite flowers are pansies because my grandmother used to plant them everywhere and daisies because they look so happy. i also love lily of the valley because one of my most poignant memories of my other grandmom is that was one of the last things she was actually able to smell as she got older. she is 93 now and has just been told that one of her heart valves is so small it is barely pumping. they say one night she'll fall asleep and just not wake up. i'm going to visit her next week in Nashville (i live in Boston) cause i guess it'll be my last chance. she doesn't have much short term memory anymore, so giving her flowers would be perfect. i'd send her a colorful, cheerful bouquet so that each time she saw it on the table it would be a new surprise for her.

My friend's grandfather recently died, and I wanted to give her something to let her know that I cared. Anyone wanna help?
What color flowers do you send someone who is in mourning?
    White - death, weddings, babies

    Pink - Friendship

    Red - Romantic love

    Orange - physical energy

    Purple - Spirituality

    Yellow - Happiness

    Blue- healing

    Green -Health

    FLORAL

If good friend go soft pinks loads of greens.

Yellow will brighten her up and is the colour of sunshine - best for cheer but depends where you are in world for flowers lasting?

Personally I would buy her something that she can keep - when you lose someone you love it is sad to have the plants die it was sad for me - maybe an indoor plant to nurture ( peace lilly) or heart shaped indoor ones ( see garden centre) or personal keepsake? Words mean the most, goodluck and she is lucky to have you for asking!
    Reply:White roses=pure love
    Reply:Any color is appropriate.
Reply:red and white carnations or lillies.

Reply:Dark crimson roses are for mourning.

Peach roses, pink roses, and statice are for sympathy and remembrance.
Reply:What colors does your friend favor?

I would avoid anything bold, such as red or purple...while I think yellows, whites or pinks would be appropriate.
    Reply:white is death
Reply:I think any white coloured flowers would be sober and suit the occasion.
Reply:I would give a dozen of white tulips.
Reply:The color or kind doesn't matter. What matters is that you care.
Reply:There is no 'perfect' flower. If this is someone you care for a great deal, buy their favorite flower. I don't know how much you can afford, not that, that should be an issue, but I have, for two very dear friends who lost a parent, given them their favorite flower both times. I also make sure they have 'enough' to share with those who want memory flowers.

On the other hand, just being with your friend will be enough to know you care for her.

A personal visit by you Lynne -- that would make me well. ;-) If that wasn't possible, or I'm contagious (I'm not BTW), then an email would suffice. A phone call might work, but I might be sleeping %26amp; we all know that when sick we must get plenty of rest, so it could be bad timing. I know, send an email %26amp; ask if it's OK to come over for a visit, to help clean the house, do the dishes, take care of the kids, or whatever. Save your money %26amp; express your feelings %26amp; concerns over them with words and or actions of kindness.

Reply:I'd rather be sent flowers because when I'm feeling sick, I really don't feel like eating. And plus, flowers will be around longer than food anyways, for those who would eat while they're not feeling well.
Reply:Flowers, either roses or a nice plant
Reply:snacks, if they include hot tea and ginger cookies.

Reply:It all depends on the person and the situation. In my case, I am alone, and would appreciate a phone call if a visit would not be appropriate. Be careful of snacks, the person may not be able to eat certain foods. It's a delicate balancing act.

Flowers for a "lady" would be nice; fruit for anyone is always welcome depending on whether or not they can eat everything.

  • What to write on the sympathy card that is with the flowers?

I currently work for a nursing home and one of my residents that I was very close to had just recently passed away, I had spent some time and got to know her children during her last few days.......I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to tell the florist to write on the card that they send with the flowers??
What to write on the sympathy card that is with the flowers?
The card which goes with the flowers should only bear the name(s) of the senders, or the name of the group of senders. Let the small card itself make your sentiment known.

On a different card, sent to the spouse or oldest child of the deseased, indicate your relationship to the deceased, as well as the true emotions and empathy for the grief all of you are experiencing. Be genuine about your sorrow, and your loss, while identifying that they are experiencing sorrow and loss too.

You might offer an insightful anecdote, a story about something which happened during your care of the deceased, one which would bring to them good memories of deceased.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to write me at...
Reply:I agree with what the first person said, however as someone who lost my father, my brother and my mother all within 8 months' time, I can tell you how it feels to be the relative of the person who died. Not only have I also worked in a nursing home, but my father died in one. It meant so much to my family to receive a card of sympathy from the people who helped care for my Dad. The nursing home he was in did not include the small note card that usually accompanies flowers. They took the time to write out a heartfelt card, much like the first person who answered suggested. They then had the florist deliver the flowers with the card they picked out. It was heartfelt, sincere, and it meant so much to me and my family, to see such kind and touching words expressed to us about the man we loved and cared about so very much.

Bless you for caring so much to want to do this right. You have a lot of compassion. You are in the right career field.

Is it appropriate to send flowers to an Islamic funeral or family after a death in the family?

Co-worker is Islamic and her aunt just died. Our department wants to do something appropriate to show our support for her. Any suggsestions would be greatly appreciated.
Is it appropriate to send flowers to an Islamic funeral or family after a death in the family?
Dear reader i don't think the question here is about what's appropriate or not,i think it's more about the sentiment and how it flows into people's heart, people's soul.

if you send flowers it will be a respect of two cultures one that doesn't know what to do to appeal to the other but tries by having flowers sent, i am sure good will will be understood and highly appriciated, and that person will know that out there beyond the realm of family and relatives there people who do Really care in a world where people pretend that they do ,you have a complete and pure heart towards that person, and that will always be clear regardless of the religion at hand.

    wish you all the best
Reply:I don't see why sending flowers would be wrong.

It shows you care and are there for her.

    That's all that matters.
Reply:Of course, flowers would be very thoughtful.
Reply:Yes, maybe a plant would be another choice. I know that they would appreciate the thoughtfulness.

Ex sends flowers to my girlfriend at work?

My girlfriend has a kid with another guy

he has sent he flowers today... we agreed to not do the flowers thing... so she is receiving flowers form her baby daddy

everyone is asking me (we work together) did you get those for her i say no...... is it fair for her to be disappointed for getting me
Ex sends flowers to my girlfriend at work?
Yah mistake number 1. ALWAYS SEND FLOWERS ON VALINTINES DAY. She may say she doesnt want any blah blah blah, she wants them.

And I would seriously ask her about the flowers her "ex" sent her. You might be getting played.
    Reply:Wow...

I'm sorry that you are going through this, I'm in a similar situation myself, She is your girlfriend now, him being the father of her child doesn't mean anything more than that he is father of her child, plain and simple....

That's not normal behavior, I'd look into it....
Reply:ok two main thing..had she got over the daddy dad and had the daddy dad got over her???? asked her on her side nicely and then if she says yes she got over him that means you have competition. but dont do the same as what he does. if he send her flowers you make her a nice home dinner........if you do not know how to cook........buy take aways but pre heat and put in nice plates............its the thoughts that counts
Reply:Seriously, you need to excuse yourself and run to the store to buy her something. If nothing else, it makes you look bad to the people you work with that she's getting flowers from someone else and nothing from you.
Reply:He might just be getting them in appreciation for what she is doing for their child.
Reply:You need to go over the top of this guy or she's gonna start second-guessing!!!

Should I send flowers after the first date to say thanks for a great time?

I was thinking of sending a bouquet of flowers to the girl I just went on a first day with to say thanks for a great time and I can't wait to see you again. What do you think? And what if she doesn't want any of her co-workers to know about it?
Should I send flowers after the first date to say thanks for a great time?
i think it is very romantic idea and would hit home to me.. if you do not want to send them to her work then send them to her home.. and this is really a nice thing that you are doing.. kind of things that melt me....so good luck with your next date......

Reply:Only send one rose. With a question of when can you see her again? This shows interest with out instilling a feeling of obligation.
Reply:That's a really nice way to say thanks. I'm all for it. If you want, you can send the flowers and card to her house address, instead of at work (if she does work). I think it would be better to send a rose, a white or pink rose, with the card. Good luck, Criseaker, if that's your name.
Reply:I think this is so romantic...she will love it! I am sure she wants everyone to know about that...and you sending flowers would make her feel really great. So just do it!

By the way, roses are the best, if you don't know which is her favorite flower...Good luck!
Reply:I say go for it. My now husband sent me flowers the day after with a note that said thanks for last night. Dinner tonight?

I said yes. We have been married almost a year now... very happily too.
Reply:if her attitude seemed positive, just SEND it :)

may be you can add a little card asking simply if you can do it again ..

and yes, if you are worried about her co-workers knowing about it, try sending it to her residence. if thats not possible, may be you can arrange someone to wait for her near the office to catch her before or after she is in .. may be a sweet little boy!
Reply:maybe send them to her house before or after she goes to work, but i think its a sweet idea.
Reply:that is a wonderful idea... basically... as most other women... we love flowers... and find it cute and romantic... am sure she would be delighted by your actions... and would love to see you again on your second date
Reply:don't worry about her co-workers. she's only gonna brag about it. the more people gonna see it, how more impress she's gonna be. woman just love flowers and to show off!! flowers is a very good idea, if you are serious about her... good luck!!!

Reply:well its a good idea but dont rush into it dont be easily available this soon
Reply:Thta's an awsome idea.... she would love them no metter where you'll send them. I don;t think she will be bothered that her co-workers will see that... on the contrary we love that....Good luck , I 'd like a guy like you...
Reply:I think the flowers are a great idea but send them to her house. That will show respect for her privacy.
Reply:frOm a woman's point of view...that's a very sweet thing to do. if you want to and if you really mean it that you had a great time with her, then go ahead and send her those lovely flowers. it will make her feel really special. and if she doesn't want her co-workers to know, then maybe you can try sending it somewhere else--like her home, or somewhere she stays.

and... just be sure that your motives and intentions for her are real and PURE. that is, that you're not thinking only about how great might she be in bed or things like that---by now that should be out of your option---until you marry her.

before you do anything, you should consider your real and honest motives... because everything starts there. a thing, no matter how right it seems to the eyes, depends all about the motive of doing it. just make sure yours are pure and clean. then...have a great time!
Reply:Very romantic, a little old fashioned, I say yes.
Reply:I think that's a very sweet gesture and I think she would love it. But, if she doesn't want her coworkers to know, then send them to her home. And if that's not possible, then send the flowers with just a "thinking of you" message" and call her with the real message.
    Reply:not a bad idea!

Well.. Like it says.. I like this girl.. It's been about a year.. We were together for a bit and then we went seperate ways.. But I still feel for her.. I would say it's love, but I just want to tell her with a special present.. I was thinking jewelry, but I thought flowers would be good too.. I am not sure yet, but .. If I am going to send flowers.. I'd really like to know what kind of flowers I should be sending her to send a message saying I still care.. I was thinking about roses.. But it seems each color or quantity makes a big difference.. And I have no clue what to do.. Hopefully you guys can help.. And hopefully the ladies can give some tips...

    Thanks for all the help.
The girl I like's birthday is comming up and I don't know what kind of flowers/roses to send her. Any help?
First of all, if you're paying $100 for carnations, you're being ripped off! For that price, you should be able to get a nice dozen roses sent to her! I don't know the girl that you're talking about, but I always liked roses (it doesn't have to be a dozen--just nicely arranged.) Chocolates are even better though, along with a cute card that will make me smile. I had a boyfriend that sent me a teddy bear for my birthday, which was really cute--I kept the teddy bear longer than the boyfriend though! Jewelry is a little too much unless you're already going out. Think about what SHE likes and make the gift personal. If you're still interested in this girl, then you want to try thinking about what she would want and how to make her feel special. Don't spend a fortune on her, but instead just focus on making her feel like she's lucky.

    Good luck and best wishes.
Reply:Wow wow wow! Dude....I would think it was pretty weird if you guys have "gone your seperate ways" and then you send her a couples hundred dollars worth of gifts.

How about something simple. Maybe a single red rose with a note attached that tells her how feel even after all this time? Or if you want to give more (though sometimes simple is more romantic), a dozen roses (red for love / pink for I really like you) with a letter.

And if you were really set on jewelry, a nice necklace (but not this plus roses...that might be getting too much yet).

    Best wishes!
Reply:bunch of red roses are beautiful and very romantic. red roses are very meaningful to us girls. just be yourself man and show to her how much you really care and love her. jewerly is not really important at all. make yourself nice and neat on her birthday it adds up on your handsome look!

    goodluck!
Reply:Get her a nice silver/white gold necklace with her birthstone and a card telling her about how you feel. This same thing surprisingly happened to me. If you really want to get her flowers, ask some of her friends what kind of flowers she likes.
Reply:Red roses to me always says something special but my favourites are carnations they smell beautiful just go with your heart if she is so special she will love anything you choose because its the thought that really counts, and you are thinking of her so you can't go wrong, good luck.
Reply:Give her your heart not gold.
Reply:Take a deep breath, and then go out and get a nice card. Any gift is going to seem like you are rushing her. Let her know you care with a card; if she calls to thank you you will know there is a place for friendship. Friendship and then a relationship. I remember when someone sent me flowers in the same situation, and I was not happy about it, as it seemed as if he was trying to get back with me. That had to be my decision. I would have loved a card, and then would have let him know I appreciated his thoughtfulness.

If you do send flowers, pick carnations, and not for $l00. Start small. Carnations last a long time, whereas roses are dead in a week, and also send words of love. Don't scare her away by doing too much. Good luck. And in the meantime, look around. Lots of girls would like a man like you who thinks of others.
Reply:Actions speak louder than words dude.

Tell her that I have a gift for you. Go to a private place of something then tell her to close her eyes.

Then say "here's your gift", then kiss her. If she stops you then you know that she doesn't want you back.

The girl I like's birthday is comming up and I don't know what kind of flowers/roses to send her. Any help?

Any help?
Well get the present that you think is the best for her and that you know she will really like and that for a fact she won't regret. Think about the stuff she used to ask you for she might like something like that. I wish you good luck with her and hope that you get another chance.
Reply:dont send white. that means death. red means love. send carnations.
Reply:Find out her favorite kind of flowers.
    Reply:white orchids
    Reply:send her ballons
Reply:Honestly, it doesn't really matter what type of flowers you send. If you know what her favorites are, send those. I would recommend Gerber Daisies. They come in a variety of colors and they're long stem-ed which is always romantic. And if you're not sure about the 'love' thing, it's a great way to say 'I like you a lot'. Good luck.
Reply:For get about quantity and what they mean and all that hoopla....she probably won′t know either. Get her something different like dahlias or something, Bright colors always makes someone feel good so If you can find any flower in bright pinks or blues go for them. And always go for a dozen. Ask the florist for any kind of flower that are large, bright and uncommon. That way you′ll stick out from the rest.
Reply:yellow roses mean friendship..... i would go with yellow roses

Do you think it's ok to send flowers to your valetine in her school?

I was about to send some roses to my girl to her house on valentine's day but then i found out you could also send her roses in school. I wanna surprise her with flowers but do you think it's kinda too surprising when a girl gets flowers in her school?
Do you think it's ok to send flowers to your valetine in her school?
I guess it depends - will she have to carry those flowers around all day at school with her books too? Put yourself in her shoes and see what you think.

    Peace!
Reply:It is absolutely ok and is a very sweet idea :)
Reply:mate for starters are you stalkin g he or harrassing her? secondly erm i dont think the school will allow it cause of a high rallergy risk factor
Reply:Yes, girls love to get things at school!

How can i send flowers online? anyone know?
    Yes. http://www.flowers.com
Reply:You should try www.usa-florist.com Report It
    Reply:FLORIST
    Reply:www.flowers.com
Reply:I've used flowers.com or 1800flowers.com, and it worked fine. I think it's cheaper, though, to google a local (Texas) florist, and charge it over the phone. Look into it.
Reply:Sure, no problem. Click on the link below. I copied the link that will take you to an offer for 10% off if you order today. My son ordered from them last week for my birthday:)

I want to send flowers or a gift to a friend for valentines. Im not dating her or anyone, i know she isnt?

either, but is it okay to send flowers to just a friend for Valentines day?
I want to send flowers or a gift to a friend for valentines. Im not dating her or anyone, i know she isnt?
Sure! Just write on the note "To a great friend" so she does not get the wrong idea - don't send red roses, if you want to do roses, make them yellow or white - I'm sure you will make her day, a small gift or chocolates would also be fine, just nothing extavagant. Great idea!
Reply:Sure, try telafloral. I use them all the time.
Reply:I think it is fine to send a gift to a friend, just make sure the card let's her know it is a friendship thing, nothing more....unless it is??

Flowers are nice, but they die in a week! How about sending her a gift basket! We can custom design a one-of-a-kind gift basket ful of lots of suprises based on what you know about her. If your interested, check out my website, http://www.basketsbyjenny.com.
Reply:Go for chocolates. I'd rather get that than flowers.

Put in a cute card "from a friend".

Cracker Barrel has tons of stuff (I'm not connected with them).
Reply:yeah, but she may take it the way that you might not like. she might think that you want her as something more than a friend. but then again she might appreciate what you gave her.
Reply:That would be very sweet of you to do. If I could make a suggestion, don't give her red roses. Those signify "love". Don't do red "anything". White pink and yellow are great "friendship" colors. Good luck, and happy Valentine's day!
Reply:What a sweet thought. Any female, girlfriend or friend, would appreciate a thoughtful gesture like flowers. She's lucky to have you as a friend.
    Reply:yea man, very cute idea.

    do it.
